The argument that the definitions of “be” and “exist” are self-referential is a valid one. Furthermore, since it is impossible to write a dictionary of the English language that does not use English words to define other English words (therefore creating a huge and ultimately circular web), English itself must also be considered meaningless.

Words are not thought: even though it is nearly impossible to clearly define the term “exist”, it is still a relevant term. Just as it is impossible to express numbers such as Pi or e numerically doesn’t make them meaningless numbers.

If anything, your argument shows that it’s tricky to precisely convert thought into words. It’s slightly above “Hey! I have legs!” in terms of insightful observation.
