It’s been two months since I last commented on the Vatican’s continuing failure to produce its promised policy on child abuse by clergy. It is understandable of course that they have not had time to deal with such a minor matter as the protection of children when there far are higher priority issues such as doing a rush job on moving JPII towards sainthood. Beatification took place this week. Vatican efforts will now be concentrated on coming up with a halfway credible second miracle.
