The Bishop’s statement reminds me of a quote from a famous and very funny TV sitcom here in the UK – Father Ted – which is set in Ireland and sends up the Catholic Church in a very irreverent manner. For more info, see Father Ted Online.
I believe a US version of the show is planned.
Father Ted has just been accused of being a facist. He replies:
“I’m not a fascist. I’m a priest. Fascists dress up in black and tell people what to do. Whereas priests……”
