Regarding the Sturgis book about the Old Testament, two other (quite authoritative) books by archeologists, which come the same conclusions as Sturgis, are:
“The Bible Unearthed,” by N. A. Silberman, et al.,
ISBN 0-6848-6912-8 and“Who Were The Early Israelites?” by W. G. Dever,
ISBN 0-9028-0975-8.
