I’m concerned with the bold and unreferenced statement that “in Plato’s time the majority also believed the world was flat.” The people of the middle ages believed the earth was flat, not the Greeks. I feel that it is also rather insulting, bearing in mind that they actually calculated the size of the earth as well. It is also quite obvious that the world is not flat from the point of view of the Greeks – many of them were sailers (from the port, you see the mast of a boat before the rest of it).
