Your quote from Ovid – “Let others praise ancient times; I am glad I was born in these.”
While I agree with it, the quotation is not only ironic (I consider 2000 years ago “ancient times”), but it begs the question: What did people 2000 years ago consider “ancient times”?
Also, it’s amusing to realize people thought things were better way back when even way back when.
