Six years ago, I wrote Gravity & Evolution, in which I made the point, perhaps not very well, that our understanding of how evolution works has much more scientific evidence behind it than our understanding of how gravity works.
But still, those who promote creationism, both the liars who provide the phony arguments and those who unthinkingly follow them, believe the assertation that evolution is only a theory is a brilliant rebuttal to the scientific arguments for evolution.
The next time you hear some creationist blindly parrot the dogma which has been instilled in him or her of:
“Evolution is only a theory”,
do them the courtesy of referring them to this article by the physicist, Ellery Schempp.
