A Miscellany 391
by: Marie Dueck
There is a great OP-ED written by James A. Haught in the June/July 2013 issue of Free Inquiry entitled Secular Humanists are Winning, Winning. The article highlights what was “so good” about the good old days – when “narrow-minded sanctimony prevailed”. It really was a great era for the white, protestant, anglo, heterosexual, educated,
affluent male. Not so good for any colored minorities, non-protestant, foreign, other-gendered, the uneducated, the poor and women. The changes that have happened since then are amazing – I really do believe that open-minded reason will prevail.
