I’ve been troubled by the idea that atheist groups supporting this bus advertisement campaign have been required to use the word “probably.” Of course it makes the message something I can agree with wholeheartedly. But is it really an atheist statement?

But, apparently acording to British advertising standards, they cannot advertise “God does not exist.” It might offend a believer. And that’s just wrong. Believers don’t have to qualify their beliefs in their advertisements. And those ads risk offending not just non-believers, but also those with different beliefs.

If they are going to advertise, let atheists proclain their atheism. Let them say loud and clear “God isn’t.”
