I’d just like to provide a little more information on JS Woodsworth, author of “Grace Before Meat.”
JS Woodsworth was a Methodist minister who was charged with sedition during the Winnipeg General Strike for quoting from a passage of Isaiah that called for social justice. He later became the leader of Canada’s democratic socialist party,the Co-operative Commonwealth Federation (CCF) which was formed in 1932. It was the forerunner of the New Democratic Party that is now (2013) Her Majesty’s Loyal Opposition in Ottawa.
