On Truisms

Thomas J.’s strongest point in his last post is basically, as he says:
“The thing you have to realise is; we’ll never fully realise what it is all about!”
This is a truism and who would deny it? However, enquiring minds should also realise that using statements that are always true as proof is a dangerous business.
Because we can never really know:
- There could be no god at all
- Several gods could exist
- Spongebob Squarepants could exist
- Extra-dimensional mice might be responsible for the whole thing
Mustrum Ridcully[1] is said to have thought that trying to find deeper meanings behind everything is akin to trying to find reflections in a mirror. You always succeed but you almost never learn anything to your advantage.
